In the spring of 2011 I accepted an offer of admission to a PhD program. The offer meant that I would be moving back to Florida after two years living in Washington. As I looked into housing options and dreaded the thought of wasting money and paying rent on an apartment for another four years, I looked into the possibility of buying a house. Jump ahead a few months and after house shopping via Skype and signing papers long distance, I became a homeowner on June 15th.
The following posts document my adventures as a homeowner. So please check out the work that I’ve put into fixing up and updating the house as I prepare to move in and start my journey as a PhD student.
