What does a great weekend look like? Well, it includes best friends, favorite sisters, love, sparklers, Harry Potter, and 26th birthdays.
The morning started off with a trip to the downtown market. I’m not sure if it is a new event or if I just missed it during my previous time in Tallahassee, but it’s a neat event.
Lots of fresh fruit and veggies like okra, Georgia peaches, tomatoes, and summer squash.
Fresh cut flowers — Now I just need to find something to put some in and I can buy ’em next weekend.
Then the rain began, so A and I took it as our cue to leave.
Back at the home front, we hung out with the Cosmo and awaited the arrival of the sister + E.
Cosmo’s super cute, but I really miss my own pain-in-the-butt. I’m looking forward to finally bringing him to Tallahassee and introducing him to his new home.
The highlight of the afternoon was the celebration/mourning of the final Harry Potter movie — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2.
This was A’s face after seeing the movie. I also really enjoyed the movie, but I attribute a lot of that to not having read the second half of the seventh book in a long time, so I didn’t get annoyed with any changes or omissions. Although, since I’m reading the first few books at the moment, I’m a little bothered that Hermione was as pretty as she was. I think they should have kept Hermione’s bushy hair and buck teeth.

Then we went back home for sparklers, cupcakes, presents, and games.
Sisterly love. I’m so glad that she was able to get time off work to come visit me!
House-warming/Birthday presents from my parents.
All of a sudden the sister told me that I HAD to open them RIGHT NOW.
It turns out that E needed the oven-mitt to take the cupcakes out of the oven, since my oven-mitts are in storage.
A’s gift was also perfectly selected. I had just pinned a similar image on Pinterest!
E is a cupcake baker extraordinaire. Thanks for baking the cupcakes for me!
As I was mid-conversation, the girls swiped a cupcake and stuffed 26 candles on top of it. I turned around and saw the nearly flaming cupcake.
Make a wish!
You know what I figured out? The next time that I’ll get some sort of “perk” or “bonus” from turning a new age will be when I’m 55. Yikes!
Anyway, what a great birthday!
The sister and E left this morning and A leaves tomorrow morning. Carpet arrives on Tuesday, so tomorrow I have to do last minute painting touch-ups, schedule a U-Haul delivery, clean the house, and hopefully get some HP reading in.
Oh, and I need to go running!
